Some Languages Have No Grammar
Winifred Bauer
This chapter deals with the statement about some languages not having grammar. To tackle this myth, the definition of Grammar had to be known. Grammar is a set of rules a language has. This would mean that every language has grammar. According to Winifred Bauer this myth is busted.
Conversing with each other is impossible if there is no grammar. Thanks to many words being homonyms, having a conversation is quite confusing. Consequently, if there were no sentence structure, it would be hard trying to figure out what the speaker wants to convey. Even if the language is based on clicking only, it is understandable, by reason of the structure and rhythmic cadence the speaker and listener abides to. This is also the reason why I agree with the writer of this myth.
