Malapropism is regarded as a speech error (slip of the tongue or misspeaking) and it is a deviation from the intended form of an utterance (a small unit of speech). This could be done unintentional, or intentional. The latter one is to invoke the laughter of the audience, such as puns and wordplays. Spoonerism

Spoonerism is a form of metathesis.it is about switching of initial sounds of two separate words. It is named after Wiliam Spooner, who used a lot of spoonerisms.

Target: I saw you light a fire

Error: I saw you fight a liar

 

Substitution

One segment is replaced by an intruder. The source of the intrusion is no in the sentence

Target: Where is my tennis racquet?

Error: Where is my tennis bat?

 

Word-exchange error

A word-exchange error is a subcategory of lexical selection errors. Two words are switched.

Target: I must let the cat out of the house

Error: I must let the house of the cat.
