2.1 Origin of language

The origin of language is unclear. There is no record of it, only speculations and theories. The Yo-he-ho theory is a theory I think that is part of the origin of the primal language. People had to make a language, in order to survive. I think that people started communicating with gestures, facial expressions and signs. However when you’re far away from each other, and have a need for communication, it was more difficult to communicate with each other. This might be the cause of the birth of spoken language. This is a faster way to warn others of dangers, to know others where you are, and explain things.

Does this mean anything for my teaching? I don’t think that it would influence my teaching methods.. This method explains the importance of speech, and coincides with what I deem to be important of a language.
